We went for a pizza which was delicious, but the Espresso Martini's at The LP in Bury St Edmunds are magnificient.
- Sophisticated, stimulating and strong. The perfect Espresso Martini.
- The Elton John (mozzarella, anchovies, capers, artichoke hearts and olives)
- Goats cheese and pancetta salad with a Stevie Wonder (Piri-piri chicken, chorizo, mixed peppers and Mozzarella}a

Suffolk's newest watering hole, the Tap Room at Star Wing Brewery will open its doors for the first time on Saturday 4th May with a weekend of celebrations, including live music from Mick the Baker, who also has a bakery on site. The opening of the Tap Room coincides with Star Wing's hop farm expansion. The hop farm is now 15 times its original size with a further 5 acres ready for planting. The Tap Room will open every Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 11pm and Sunday 12pm till 10pm. There'll be Star Wing's core range of six craft ales as well as locally sourced cider and gin and of course bread from Mick.
We're liking the wine on tap and the bagnums at Weino Bib in Dalston. Drink in or take away or in our case do both. The Tap Room and Deli also sells fresh, raw milk. Take your bottles and fill them up.

The perfect thing to do on a hot Saturday afternoon - book a rum tasting at Cottons in Camden. We went for a birthday treat and tasted six rums and two cocktails from all over the Caribbean. With their Global Rum Ambassador Ian Burrell away in Cuba we had the session with Andre, his nephew, who soon had us behind the bar mixing the cocktails. It was one of the best £25 I've ever spent, we left in a VERY good mood!
The Wingspan Bar is open! This new bar at The Angel Hotel in Bury St Edmunds has been created in the vaults; the secret tunnels providing the perfect intimate spaces to enjoy a drink. The Angel (in Bury) isn't shy when it comes to decor, and the decadent finish - complete with aircraft engine bar, tables from airplane wings, bespoke furniture, interesting artefacts and curiosities, is stunning. Chef Jay Scrimshaw pulled out all the stops for the opening party on Thursday. Fellow foodies enjoyed a fabulous selection of canapes, including these Quail Scotch Eggs with Black Pudding crust, Bacon and Maple syrup doughnuts and Oysters from Pinneys - served with buttermilk .
The bar is open daily from 5pm - just allow time to try the new afternoon tea from 2.30pm before hand!
Invited to the opening night here at the new LP club (used to be Ruin) where downstairs the wood fired oven burns continually, making the best properly thin and crispy Italian-rather-than-American pizza in minutes. And upstairs in the bar some very good singing - one of them has got through the first round of the X Factor!
